Menard offers a variety of attractions to visitors. The natural beauty of Menard can be appreciated during a walk along the San Saba river. The Stockpen Crossing and American Legion parks provide ample access for picnics and leisure activities. Or stroll along the Historic Ditch Walk.

Historic Attractions
Menard has a legacy of rich historic attractions. The ruins of the Presidio de San Luis de las Amarillas built in 1757 and Fort McKavett built in 1852 give you a unique glimpse into our Texas heritage. The Menardville Museum is housed in the old Santa Fe Railroad Depot building (built in 1912) and displays local history.

Other sites include the Old Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1899), the Christian Church (1905), Bevans State Bank (1903), the Australian Hotel (late 1880's), the Old Mission Theater (1927), and the Luckenbach Store (now home to Burnham Bros, 1903).
Outdoor Recreation
Sports minded visitors can take advantage of the abundant wildlife to hunt deer, turkey, dove and quail. Over 400,000 acres in the county are leased for hunting and many guide services are available. Several types of fish such as catfish, bass, and panfish flourish in the San Saba River. This attracts amateur as well as experienced anglers.
